MASAR for riders

This Privacy Policy explains how MASAR ("MASAR", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the MASAR mobile application and the website at masar.ltd (together, the "Services"). MASAR is available to riders in Egypt and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you provide

Account details: name, email, phone number, motorcycle marque, discipline, and profile photo.
Ride content: routes, waypoints, group ride details, chat messages, event descriptions.
Shop listings and reviews you submit.
Support requests you send through the website contact form or by email.

1.2 Information collected automatically

Precise GPS location data while ride tracking is active.
Ride telemetry: distance, duration, speed, altitude, and route replay data.
Device data: device model, operating system version, app version, crash logs, and IP address.
Usage data: features used, screens viewed, interactions.

1.3 SOS emergency data

When you activate SOS, we transmit your real-time location, an alert to nearby MASAR riders, a live location link, and the option for one-tap voice coordination. SOS location data is broadcast for the duration of the emergency and retained in an audit log for safety review.

2. How we use your information

To operate ride tracking, part-rides, shops, community chat, and SOS features.
To authenticate you and secure your account.
To connect you with other riders you follow or friend.
To display nearby vetted shops, events, and rider activity.
To send transactional communications (support replies, security alerts).
To improve the Services, detect fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

3. How we share information

We share information only in the following cases:

With other riders as directed by you (public profile, chat, group rides, SOS broadcasts).
With service providers who process data on our behalf (hosting, analytics, email, mapping) under confidentiality obligations.
With emergency responders and hospitals when SOS is activated or as required to protect life.
With authorities if required by valid legal process in Egypt, the GCC, or applicable jurisdiction.
In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Location data

Location tracking is required for ride telemetry, part-rides, shop discovery, and SOS. You can disable background location at any time through your device settings; doing so will limit or disable those features. You control whether your ride history is public, visible to friends, or private.

5. Data retention

Account and profile data: kept while your account is active and up to 12 months after deletion.
Ride and telemetry data: retained until you delete a ride or your account.
SOS audit logs: retained for up to 24 months for safety review.
Support messages: retained for up to 24 months.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email emailsupport@masar.ltd.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including TLS encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure; please protect your account credentials.

8. Children

MASAR is not intended for users under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including data centers located outside Egypt or the GCC. We use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. If we make material changes we will notify you in-app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version.
